About Companion Briefs

Companion briefs, derived from the National Science Board’s biennial Science and Engineering Indicators report, are rigorous, focused, and hard-hitting policy-relevant pieces that provide valuable insights into Science and Technology policy issues and provide a platform for National Science Board to engage in policy discussions in an ongoing and timely fashion. They may answer questions, inform discussions, take positions, tell a “story,” or offer recommendations. They may be “stand alone” pieces or be linked thematically as a group.
